Happy Father’s day!!! Happy Yoga day !!!

My father is no longer with me , but he exists within the kernel of a story that he narrated years ago as I enjoyed a 50 paise orange ice cream . The story has stayed with me like his memories and blessings. Thank you, papa you taught me to do my duties and then some more. I find you every day in that some more.

The story: Once upon a time there was a lazy man residing in a hut. One day God appeared to him and showed him a huge boulder outside his hut. God urged the man to push the boulder every day for twenty one days. The man reluctantly agreed.

Every day he pushed the boulder using every ounce of his strength but to no avail. The rock did not budge an inch. Finally, on the twenty first day God appeared. The man burst out angrily, “see unnecessarily you made me expend my energy.”

God : But I only asked you to push the rock.

Man : but the rock didn’t move.

God : But I only asked you to push .

Man : but the rock hasn’t budged an inch

God : That’s the problem with you human beings . You never listen. I only asked you to push, I didn’t expect you to move the rock. Then with the flick of his little finger God sent the rock flying into space.

Man (bewildered): then why did you make me do this huffing and pushing?

God: Look at the sinews and muscles you developed, the patience in the pearly sweat of your brows. Remember if you push the rock hard enough, I will move it for you.
